You have probably noticed that the media...TV....movies...rarely provide us with good role models. In fact, it is often the opposite. This means that we need to go out of our way every day to find inspiring messages. People have to know that anything Good is possible. It makes such a difference when we start our day right....when we take time to meditiate, pray, read uplifting material, listen to an inspiring story...to make time for some peace in our lives. This does carry over into the rest of our day and will affect the rest of the world in a positive way. You may have already seen the video below but it is a beautiful message that can be listened to over and over again. It is a message of Love, persistance, and courage.
Despite the seeming chaos, God's gentle presence is always with us to guard and guide. But...we must take time throughout our day to commune or connect with this loving presence, in order to realize the good already available. As with a radio or television, in order to obtain the benefits, we need to tune in to the source.

A Beautiful Role Model

HOMELAND SECURITY: VIPERS and SERPENTS
One of the main points I would like to make here is to consider the idea of where our REAL protection comes from. Are we saved, protected, healed and comforted by family, presidents, governments....and other leaders.....or by God? Are we placing our trust in the material instead of the Spiritual....and is this why we are experiencing such chaos and strife? Are we breaking the first commandment..... Thou shalt have no other gods before Me? I don't take this to mean that God or the Creator has human qualities and experiences jealousy...etc...but that because we are placing our trust and devotion in matter...which is temporal and decays....our own lack of understanding that SPIRIT/GOD is the only real substance that we can truly depend on...is what is causing our problems.I think of it as perhaps breaking a universal law. For example...we know how the law of gravity works and if we jump off of a 10 story building.....we pretty much know what will happen. My concept of God is a loving God.....and not one that reigns with fear and revenge. My current understanding is more in the line that God has created certain laws of the universe and when we break them...things just don't go right. In other words...its our lack of obedience to God....or Nature's laws that causes our problems.
Now...back to the viper and it's relative the serpent. In the fourth chapter of Exodus we have the story of Moses who was to lead the Israelites out of bondage....but he didn't feel capable or worthy of such a job...and he was fearful. Here are a few verses from Exodus 4 "And Moses answered and said, But behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The Lord hath not appeared unto thee. And the Lord said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod. And he said, Cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it. And the Lord said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand: That they may believe that the Lord God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Issac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee."
Now.....even if this story is partly metaphorical, it is teaching us a very valuable lesson. I believe that it is saying to us that through God we have authority over error, evil or the serpent(viper). We need to take it by the tail and see it for what it is....a liar...an imposter....and then it becomes a rod or staff to us. God's omnipotence is made evident....and a seeming evil power is revealed as impotent. So...while the VIPER program seems scary and powerful, maybe we need to begin to view it differently and place our trust in the Source.....or Creator....not the creation. Let's not allow government/mortal thought to place fear in our hearts. Here is a powerful quote from Ephesians 6, 10-17.
"Finally, my bretheren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all , to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."

A GLORIOUS DAY IS DAWNING
The world's current state of affairs often seems totally hopeless. It's difficult not to become a bit overwhelmed at times. I like to think of the experiences we are all going through as a chemicalization or fermentation. Webster uses a phrase to describe fermentation..."an energy-producing transformation".
What claims to be error or evil is clamoring for recognition and our acceptance of it as ultimate reality. It seems that "world thought" or "mortal mind" wants to hold on to what it knows. It realizes that Spiritual Truth is breaking forth to nullify its false claims and is frantically calling for attention. While we don't ignore the evils taking place, we musn't personalize them. When needed we can point out where the wrong is occurring but in our hearts we musn't attach evil to any person
As we all know, darkness or evil is only an absence of the Light. It has no real power in and of itself. It will fade as Truth is realized. Please read the poem below and keep it in your hearts.
Missionary Hymn: Author unknown
A glorious day is dawning,
And o'er the waking earth...
The heralds of the morning
are springing into birth.
In dark and hidden places
There shines the blessed light;
The beam of Truth displaces
The darkness of the night
The advocates of error
Forsee the glorious morn....
And hear in shrinking terror,
The watchword of reform:
It rings from hill and valley
It breaks oppression's chain.
A thousand free-men rally,
And swell the mighty strain
The watch-word has been spoken,
What claims to be error or evil is clamoring for recognition and our acceptance of it as ultimate reality. It seems that "world thought" or "mortal mind" wants to hold on to what it knows. Far shines the blessed token
Upon the startled earth.
To hearts and homes benighted
The blessed Truth is given,
And peace and Love united,
Point upward unto heaven
GIVE ME A LIGHT
The first part below was written by Thomasin Magor, who lived for several years among the Samburu Tribe of Africa. He wrote a beautiful book about them called "African Warriors".
We all have our doubts and fears as to what the future will hold....our individual and collective futures. I believe that the saying below by Minnie Louise Haskins ...holds the key to passing through this existence with peace and confidence that things are not always what they seem, that there is a larger purpose and that only God or the Intelligence of the universe....knows the whole story.
Faith and trust are not just ideological concepts. When based on a sure foundation of experience and of a "knowing"...they are practical and dependable. These qualities need to be developed before we can expect to have them always available as practical tools. We need to cultivate them....like seeds in a garden. The only way to do this is by taking time each day to seek connection to the Creator.
The world has many distractions ....especially lately...to keep us from doing this. The "world" thinks it can actually take God/Spirit away from us through laws, propaganda, fear...etc. But....how can matter, false thought, illusion, hypnotism, lies (all things that are only shadow)ever affect Spirit...which is all that is real and eternal? The saying by Haskins is really so simple but I find it incredibly beautiful and just wanted to share it with you.
" When darkness seemed to cloud me,
When doubt seemed to crowd me
When deep fear seemed to creep within,
I remembered this........"
"I said to the man who stood at the gate: "Give me a light
that I may tread safely into the unknown."
And he replied: "Go out into the darkness and put your hand
into the hand of God.
That shall be to you better than
light and safer than a known way."

PHYSICS LEADING THE WAY TO METAPHYSICS
By Marjorie Tietjen: Daystar1952@yahoo.com
"Traditionally, religion has looked on the world of natural science as opposed to the world of Spirit, but paradoxically, today, it is the world of science that is unwittingly preparing human thought for this breakthrough, by uncovering the ephemeral nature of matter at it's basic levels, and showing the relationship between mind and matter. This makes it easier to concieve of a mental or a transcendent reality. Thought is more prepared to consider the spiritual foundations of theology, and eventually to connect with the creative governing intelligence of the universe, that we call God." Mindpower and The Spiritual Dimension" by Richard Haw
We are all aware of the many trials and tribulations that our world is presently experiencing. Evil, in the form of pollution, crime, hatred, greed, and moral decline, seems to be increasing in proportion to the current materialistic outlook. It would seem then that the remedy for these ills is not more materialism, but a looking away from matter towards Spirit, towards the true nature of our relationship to the Infinite Source of All Being. This wouldn't mean that we ignore our present basic material needs but when we turn to the "Divine Mind", the Collective Conciousness, or Spirit (God), whatever term one wants to use, then, and only then will we find true, practical and lasting solutions which would benefit everyone involved. I've seen this principle demonstrated and therefore know it to be true.
Einstein once said that anyone studying physics long enough is inevitably led into metaphysics.
The original Webster's Dictionary defines metaphysics as the science of the principles and causes of all things existing; hence, the science of mind or intelligence.
Christ was the greatest metaphysician. Through his miracles he proved the supremacy of Spirit over matter. He showed us by His works that there are spiritual laws, which are above material laws, that govern the universe , and when understood, they can be demonstrated as dependable, practical and absolute.
Quantum physics has come to the realization that , basically, there is no matter. It is believed that the seeming reality of our material world is nothing more than the extension or manifestation of our thinking. Thought produces energy and energy produces mass. Several great religions have acknowledged this concept all along. Now, physics is coming to the same conclusions.
Sir James Jeans wrote "We live in a gossamer universe; pattern, plan and design are there in abundance, but solid substance is rare." "Even the elements of the atom itself are only waves of energy void of solid substance. The particles of the atom have no more tangible substance than a thought or a feeling. Gradually matter as a solid thing, has vanished from our concept of the universe - replaced by a basic atomic unit, composed of space and non material charges of energy. This non material nature of the atom is a most essential point in relating the physical universe to the Spiritual Dimension." "The Spiritual Dimension"....by Ann Beals
Many people, including myself, at times, see modern technology as a threat to our freedom and even our health. Everything that man seems to create can be used for good or evil purposes. So, it really isn't the technology that is the problem but it is the thinking behind it. Maybe instead of dreading, fretting, and worrying...and perhaps creating the very reality we fear, we should try and view certain technological developements, such as frequency medicine, computors, cellphones, security cameras, television, micropchips....even the ability to control the weather, as a step toward overcoming the seeming limitations of the material world. When we see a trend towards using these technologies for nefarious purposes, each and everyone of us can always turn to the One Supreme Intelligence for harmonious solutions.
A friend once said to me, "Piece by piece, everything human beings have trusted is being revealed as completely untrustworthy: governments (services), finance (capital), industries (goods), schools, media, entertainment, medicine, etc. Everything with which we use to organize socially and politically is being stripped of value and rendered useless for anything but control through intimidation, coercion and indoctrination. We will have nothing upon which to rely for self preservation or social and political identity. Everything that humanity has willed into being is being used to ensnare us into consenting to slavery. We can not "will" this situation away. We can only surrender to God.
We can only empty our will to God's will, to God's Love and allow God's love to transform us. Once we are transformed with God at the concious center of our lives, the world and it's affairs will be transformed by the energy of love, which is infinite and always there.
So , this is our task: to surrender our will, to allow God's love to fill us and overflow into our world. This and this alone is how the world is changed. "
It is clear to me that our world needs a different approach. This approach, that many are recommending, is not some ethereal head in the clouds type of approach but it is the same potent and loving approach demonstrated by Christ Jesus. He certainly wasn't wishy washy in his methods. He commanded the waves to be still and the storm to cease. He did cast out the money changers in the temple. He raised the dead. He healed withered limbs, fed the five thousand with only a few loaves and fishes, turned water into wine and passed through angry crowds unseen. He said "I of mine own self can do nothing, it is the Father in heaven that doeth the works"....and again, promised that we could do the same. The same power that was available to Him, is available to all mankind throughout all eternity. I believe this was one of Christ's most profound teachings to humanity. Many feel that Christ's crucifixion was not an example of defeat but that his resurrection was the supreme demonstration of the unreality of matter. He proved that Life is eternal and doesn't depend on material circumstances.
There is concern today that because we are seemingly composed of energy or certain types of frequencies, that our true nature can be manipulated ( through energy weapons), by those who wish to control. If we take a step back for a moment and look at this objectively, we will perhaps come to the conclusion that the seeming "powers that be" are trying to create fear and that it is really only the fear itself that we have to fear. Fear closes us off to our connection to God. God is spiritual. He is all good and he encompasses ALL. "In Him we live and move and Have our being". The Bible says we are made in His image and likeness. Therefore, we are also spiritual. Spirit is the opposite of matter. The two are totally separate. One cannot affect the other. In fact, if Spirit ( God ) is ALL then, like physics is now saying, there is no matter. Therefore, even energy is a form of thought. Ultimately material energy has no power over our true being....once we realize this. And this can translate into protection here and now. God/Good is the only power in control...but we have to acknowledge this, feel it and know it before we can see it becoming evident in our experience.
I would like to close with several paragraphs from "The Spiritual Dimension" by Ann Beals
" I began my search during the gentle world of the fifties - a world that has since given way to revolutionary changes. A new society has emerged, one that has shattered the values and ethics of the past, overturned educational and cultural patterns, changed business, government and economy. While we recognize that many of these changes threaten the future of humanity, there appears to be no solutions to them. There are no simple or immediate answers to the complex problems we face. But this does not mean there are no answers. In time we will discover that an understanding of the structure and content of the spiritual dimension will provide answers to those problems that are beyond the realm of science and technology. The discovery of this spiritual dimension marks the end of one age and the beginning of another. This new age will meld together science and religion into one harmonious whole, and transform the world conciousness. It will fulfill the prophecy of John in Revelation, when he wrote of the coming of a "new heaven and a new earth".
"I thought of this "new heaven and new earth early one morning as I waited for the sun to rise. Outside my window there was only the silent night. The winds whispered. The clouds drifted by. Nothing seemed to change. Then a soft light began to dawn, outlining various forms in deep shades of gray. The first rays of the dawn brought an iridescent glow to everything. Then the sun rose, revealing a landscape that was beautiful, complete, perfect in every detail - and yet so hidden in the darkness a short time ago. The change was effortless. In this transformation, the dawn had not created a thing. It had only brought to light that which already existed. As I watched this transformation, I thought, "How so like the coming of this earth's Spiritual Age."

PURIFYING OUR ENVIRONMENT
By Marjorie Tietjen
The mainstream media has recently been predicting dire consequences for the world's environment if immediate steps are not taken to curb pollution.
What steps are being considered by those in power?
From what I understand, the main "plan of action" would be to grant unlimited powers to the United Nations, to enforce global environmental laws.
What would this mean?
Who would be in charge?
Would we have any say in the election of those who would be in control of our destiny?
It is becoming rather obvious that the more the power is consolidated, the more rights the people lose. We don't want to trade one problem for another......pollution for tyranny. From the beginning of it's organization, the main goal of the United Nations has been to form a One World Government. We need to carefully observe the current situation in which our President is ignoring environmental concerns and maybe even intentionally contributing to them in order to further a more hidden agenda.. Perhaps "Problem - Reaction - Solution" may be playing a role in this scenerio.
Here is a quote by George Bush senior, who of course is the father of our current President. "We have before us the opportunity to forge for ourselves and for future generations a new world order, a world where the rule of law, not the rule of the jungle, governs the conduct of nations. When we are successful, and we will be, we have a real chance at this New World Order, an order in which a credible United Nations can use it's peacekeeping role to fulfill the promise and vision of the U.N's founders."
I think it would be naive to suppose that that our current president did not have the same aspirations or agenda as his father. I feel it is possible that our president could be playing his role as the "Problem" by contributing to the environmental crisis. In the meantime the media is provoking the public into a "Reaction" by telling us the world is on the verge of catastrophic collapse, due to nuclear and environmental concerns, partially caused by the ruler of our country. I believe we may be expected to react by demanding that the United Nations take control of the situation, which is the ultimate goal or "Solution" of those in power. Some of you may think this is far fetched and some of you may even think it's a good idea. However, it would seem prudent to keep these ideas in the back of our minds as we watch events unfold. This particular scenerio has been predicted and appears to be playing itself out. Gorbachev has stated that the environment will be the cornerstone (fear inducing factor) of the New World Order.
At this point in time things appear particularly discouraging and hopeless. However, nothing is ever hopeless. The following is a quote from an article in the May 4, 1970 issue of The Christian Science Monitor entitled "Higher Thinking, Better Living", by Joseph G Harrison
"Man's attitude towards the environment, like his attitude towards his fellowmen, stems from his own view of himself and of his relationship to life's whole. Pollution is not something that springs up automatically and unavoidably as an economy broadens or as human activity increases or as population multiplies. Pollution comes from the quality of men's thinking about themselves and from their overall concept of what life does and should include."
It is becoming clear to many people that the further we move into materialism, the more we separate ourselves from our true spiritual nature. In this process of consuming ourselves with mainly material objectives, we begin to lose our sense of connectedness to God and along with this apparent loss of connection, we also lose our sense of intuition, discernment, wisdom, caring and compassion, which have their source in God.
We become more concerned about material gain. When our main desire returns to spiritual gain then society's compulsion for overconsumption and competition will fade away and more spiritual humane interests will then become our focus.
Pollution of thought is at the root of pollution in all types of media and entertainment. It is also at the root of polluted morals and is definitely reflected in the pollution of our environment. Instead of the environment surrounding us, we will become increasingly aware that we embrace our environment in our conciousness.
"If our purpose is to stuff our environment with more and better matter instead of knowing purer and higher concepts, we shall be disappointed. We might succeed in gaining materialistic goals, but they would never unfold the atmosphere that constitutes man's spiritual environment. Heaven's door would be closed to us until we changed our objective to a spiritual one." Helen Wood Bauman
So, let's not give our power and responsibility away to some Think Tank because we feel there is no hope. The real hope for the world lies within each and everyone of us. Attitudes and values can and do change but first we have to acknowledge that this is possible. The Bible tell us that with God all things are possible. Then shouldn't this be the source we all turn to for lasting solutions?
We all have different concepts of what God is to us. The point isn't to try and define God but to "know" that we are all connected to this wise loving intelligence and it is here where we have our access to right ideas that will heal the world.
